Salvation
To be come a Christian you must understand the following:

God loves you and has a plan for your life.

Because sin has separated you from God, you do not know God’s plan for your life.

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

You can receive Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord and therefore know God’s plan for your life.

John 1:12 “… to all who receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.”

John 10:10 “I have come that they may have life, and have it more abundantly.”

                 It’s as simple as A-B-C.

Admit that you are a sinner and cannot save yourself.  Then, ask God to help you repent (turn away from) your sins and to forgive you.

Believe that Jesus Christ is God’s Son, who died for your sins and is the only way to be saved.

Acts 4:12 “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given by which we can be saved.”

Confess your faith in Jesus Christ.  Ask Him to become your Lord and Savior.  Commit to being His servant.  Then, publicly confess your relationship with Jesus Christ.

Romans 10:9-10, 13 “…if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord”, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.     For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Matthew 10:32 “Everyone therefore who acknowledges (confesses) me before others, I also will acknowledge before my Father in heaven.”

Use the following as a guideline for your prayer to accept Jesus Christ into your life.

Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and have displeased you in many ways.  I believe that you died for my sins and only through faith in your death and resurrection can I be forgiven.  I want to turn away from my sin and ask You to come into my life as my personal Savior and Lord.  From this day forward, I will follow you by living a life that pleases and honors You.  Thank You, Lord Jesus, for loving and forgiving me.  Amen.
