First Baptist Church reaching our world . . .
Thousands of people around the world are coming to a saving faith in Jesus Christ. Yet the stark reality remains: 1.7 billion people still have little or no access to the gospel message. And while Southern Baptists are going to international mission fields in unprecedented numbers, many more are needed.

2 Million People Who Have Never Heard the Gospel Story...
Fourth trip W. Africa
May 2010
May 14- Friday- Traveling into the village today. Our team will be staying for five days there. Part of that time they will be visiting the "new" village where the chief is very excited about our team coming and sharing the gospel with his people and neighboring villages he is calling in. They ask for prayer. Pray for open doors, safety, health, and above all decisions for Christ.
May 15- Saturday- An amazing day in the village! When our team arrived and started visiting, they found that there was already a believer there! Also, "Sally", who Jared asked you to pray for, told our team that she had made a dicision for Christ when they were there last time, she just didn't tell them. As a result of the Gospel preached today we now have 5 new believers giving us a total of 7 in the village so far! Praise the Lord! Among the 5 are the chief's sister and daughter! The chief is still very excited about our team there and wants to make it easier for us to return however he can. Also, our team got a chance to catch up with our believer from the new village that made a decision last trip and he is still excited and positive about his choice to follow Christ! The whole village danced for the new believers in Christ that night! Our team asks that we pray for them. Pray for endurance. The heat is very difficult to bear. Pray for open doors and for the people and Chiefs continuing to be open to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Chief of the new village is very excited about our team coming to his village and wants everyone there and neighboring villages to hear the Gospel, so please pray for that as well.
May 10- Monday- Traveled to new village. Our believer from the last trip was super excited that our team was there. He had been reading his bible and asked our team to be baptized! They will be baptizing on our next trip in. Also found two more who made decisions on our last trip in, giving us a total of three in the new village and nine all together! Praise the Lord! Janiece and Jennifer will be going back to town Tuesday to visit with and encourage our missionary there and Jared and Ferrel will follow on Wednesday. Thursday they start their treck home. Keep them in your prayers!
West Africa is one of the most ethnically diverse regions in the world, and home to more than 300 people groups with little or no access to the Gospel. International Mission Board workers are sharing the Truth and planting churches, and God is moving...
As you may know by now, First Baptist is an Acts 1:8 church; a church dedicated to bringing the gospel to “Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and to the ends of the earth.” Our commitment to the “ends of the earth” has led us to engage the Fulani People of Senegal, West Africa: taking the “Good News” of God’s love to a previously unreached people group. Committed to a three to five year partnership our church will conduct three to four trips a year into the bush of Africa for the purpose of evangelism and the establishment of a New Testament church.
Our fourth group will be leaving in May. This trip and those that will follow will only be possible as you are committed to go, to pray and to give. Seek God about going (securing a passport will show God you are serious about your commitment), and begin praying for the Fulani People, your role in the mission, and for those who will be going. Also consider financial assistance for those going. The estimated cost for those taking their first trip is $3,000 per person; $2,200 for returning persons.
This is an exciting time for our church family.
Please, above everything else, pray:
pray for an open door to the Fulani,
pray for those going, and pray,
“Father, what would you have me to do?”
